︎ Catherine Economopoulos is a designer, writer, photographer, creative from Greece, living and working on regions of Turtle Island formerly known as Chicagoland and the Greater Toronto Area. Her work is sustainability-oriented and geared towards communities that have been cast aside by the design profession - the ones that bring our cities to life.
︎ She is an alumnus of the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts & two certificates focused on the global environment and sustainable design. She is currently on hiatus from the M. Arch. program at the Illinois Institute of Technology, with affiliations to the Masters of Tall Buildings & Vertical Urbanism (MTBVU) program through the Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
︎ She speaks English and Greek natively, & French and Spanish at the intermediate level. She spends her spare time teaching Greek in the south suburbs of Chicago, and learning American Sign Language.
︎ She is active in the women’s reproductive rights, prison reform, Palestinian liberation, and queer visibility movements. Her organizational affiliations include the University of Toronto’s Occupy and Chicago’s Pushing Envelopes. In spring 2024, she started the first Midwest chapter of 501(c)3 Not Just Tourists and has since sent over 50 pounds of medical supplies abroad.
